PI: Dr. Anqi Zhang
Assistant Professor of Medical Engineering
Dr. Anqi Zhang (pronounced Ann-Chee JAHNG) started as an Assistant Professor of Medical Engineering at Caltech in March 2025. She was previously a postdoctoral scholar in the Departments of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. She received her Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at Harvard University in 2020 and her B.S. degree in Materials Science from Fudan University in 2014.

Postdoctoral Scholars
Dr. Yang Jiao
Postdoctoral Scholar
Dr. Jiao started as a postdoctoral scholar in March 2025. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanics from Tsinghua University in 2024 and his B.S. degree in Material Science and Engineering from Tianjin University in 2019. His research interests include developing flexible electronics and bioelectronics, optimizing their conformal interfaces, and exploring potential healthcare applications for daily life.

Dr. Jialun Zhu
Postdoctoral Scholar
Dr. Zhu started as a postdoctoral scholar in September 2025. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles, and his B.S. degree in MSE and Applied Physics from Central South University in China. His research interests include developing flexible neural interfaces and bioelectronic sensors.

Jill Feng
Jill started her Ph.D. at Caltech in 2025. She received her B.S. in Chemical Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2023 and her M.S. from Northwestern University in 2024. She is passionate about developing minimally invasive neurotechnologies with translational potential. Outside the lab, she can be found doing yoga, reading, or trying to acclimate to outdoor tennis in the Pasadena summer.

Noah Lu
Noah started his Ph.D. at Caltech in 2025. He received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a double major in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University in 2023, and his M.S.E. in Bioengineering Innovation and Design from Johns Hopkins in 2025. His research interests include developing noninvasive and minimally invasive neurotechnologies and expanding the therapeutic potential of neuromodulation.

Yao Tang
Yao started his Ph.D. at Caltech in 2025. He received his B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from ShanghaiTech University in 2025. His research interests focus on developing high-density neural interface and decoding neural signals for disease treatment. Outside of research, he enjoys cooking and photographing people in diverse settings.
